Workshops/Courses
Face to Face Experiences
Depending on your specific needs, educators and agency administrators can choose from the following options:
-
One- or two-day workshops – Workshops provide introductory and entry-level information or content review on a specific component of the HighScope Curriculum. It's all best practice, so whether you use the HighScope Curriculum or just want to improve your skills and understanding of early childhood, these workshops are a great place to begin.
-
Week-long courses– Similar to workshops in that discussion focuses on a specific component of the HighScope Curriculum, but with more in-depth discussion and analysis. Again, if you want to learn about various aspects of early childhood, by attending these courses you will learn best practice, no matter what curriculum you use.
-
Multiple-week courses – Intensive course work that may ultimately lead to HighScope Teacher certification, Trainer Certification, and /or Program Accreditation. These courses promote the skills needed to establish a high-quality program and sustain best practices. If you are serious about having a high quality program using the HighScope Curriculum, you should consider these courses.
Online Training
Our online training courses are not the typical e-course where you sign on whenever you are ready, complete the exercises, and when you're finished, it's over. Our online courses are interactive, both with the instructor and with other students. You will become a member of an e-learning community, taking part in group discussions, and receiving individual attention from the instructor. Although there is a specific schedule – with a start date, assignment deadlines, and a completion date – course work can be accessed and completed anywhere you have Internet access, anytime of the day, and all the while you will maintain close contact with your instructor and your classmates. Even after the course is complete, you can continue learning and getting support by being involved with our network of other teachers and administrators both through our forums, our blogs, and our membership association (which, by the way, is FREE).
